A Falmouth fish and chip shop have announced that they will be reopening and residents have been taking to social media to celebrate.

Old Hill Fish and Chip Shop, Old Hill Chippy for short, has announced that it will be opening its doors to serve again from Thursday 14th May.

This comes following the news that two other popular Falmouth eateries, Kessell's Kitchen and Hooked on the Rocks, announced that they would also be reopening this month.

The chippy will be taking telephone orders only in new special measures to reduce contact.

It is advised that residents call up in advance.

Ray and Angela, owners of Old Hill Chippy, said:

"We will be allocating time slots for collection of orders to minimise contact between our customers.

"We will have your food ready and packed to go at the specified time.

"We would be grateful if you could arrive at the designated time to help with the system and we will endeavour to make sure your order is packed fresh and also on time for you."

Collection of the food will be on a table across the doorway when the weather is decent, there will be a one-way system inside the shop when its bad.

"We look forward to seeing you and thank you for your loyal support," Ray and Angela said.

"Amazing news. Only the best fish and chips in Cornwall," one happy resident said.

Another resident reacted to the announcement saying: "Best news ever."

OPENING HOURS:

LUNCHTIMES:

Friday & Saturday 12pm - 1:30pm

EVENINGS:

Thursday, Friday & Saturday 4pm - 7pm

You can make an order by calling 01326 316762.

The fish and chip shop closed its doors back in March following the government's advice.

"Our desire is to protect our staff, customers and their families during this time," they wrote on social media.

"We feel that this is the right course of action to follow at this difficult time."
