This morning, Mayor Steve Eva braved the rain with Quidditch captain Lily May to celebrate Falmouth as an Honorary Quidditch Town (Falmouth Falcons).

To celebrate the release of Quidditch Through The Ages Illustrated Edition, written by J.K Rowling and illustrated by Emily Gravett, this week Bloomsbury Publishing is holding outdoors, social distanced mayoral ceremonies with 11 towns featured in the wizarding world's Quidditch league.

Falmouth Mayor Steve Eva said:

"A couple of weeks ago I was asked by the Town Clerk if I would like to appear at the castle to represent the town, very pleased to do so.

"We could have had a bit better weather, very proud to be one of the teams. JK Rowling is probably one of the best-known authors around the world and she has picked Falmouth.

"I can understand why she picked Falmouth, Falmouth is a very special place.

"Hopefully it will bring more people to the castle, anything to bring more tourism into Falmouth is a bonus, look forward to seeing how it works out."

Quidditch Through the Ages is published in hardback on 6th October 2020 by Bloomsbury Publishing, in aid of Comic Relief and Lumos.
