Falmouth won two awards at the Town and City Management Awards event last night, winning both Best Digital Project and Best Partnership.

The town beat London and Belfast in the place for the top spot.

The Digital Project award was granted to Falmouth for the town's free WiFi, which was setup in partnership with the Town Council, Falmouth BID and Falmouth University.

The free WiFi has revolutionised Falmouth as a fully connected town and allows our residents and visitors to have access to internet everywhere.

The Best Partnership award was granted to The Falmouth Team, which is made up of both the Town Manager, Richard Gates and Business Improvement District Manager (BID), Richard Wilcox.

Falmouth BID is a non profit organisation that was opened in 2009 and has been going strong since. It's purpose is to push innovative projects in order to make a better trading environment for business in the area.

In a statement on Falmouth's official Facebook page, Richard Gates, said:

"These awards highlight the hard work of the Falmouth Town Team and so many others.

"A huge thank you to Naomi Morant and Ruth Abraham of the Town Team, Ruth Thomas and all of the Falmouth Town Council Staff, the Falmouth Town Councillors, community volunteers and the Falmouth BID Board".
