A Falmouth arts and craft shop has announced that it will be reopening.

The Wool Basket, based on Church Street, will be reopening with a fresh coat of paint on Monday 15th June.

Johnathon Pay, who owns the shop with his parents, told Nub News:

"It will be a little strange opening again as we understand that a large section of our customers are the most vulnerable and at risk."

The Wool Basket has made sure to put safety precautions in place for the reopening in order to allow for social distancing at all times.

Due to being closed for a while now and the pandemic still at large, Jonathon is unsure how busy they'll be straight away.

"We don't know how busy we will be to begin with as some may still have a hesitancy to come out initially," he told Nub News.

"Though as there are many who are still not comfortable with online shopping and will have been at a loss without projects to get on with, we are expecting it to be worthwhile."

While being closed for lockdown, as well as doing home delivery, The Wool Basket has been productively sprucing up their shop.

Johnathon said: "The lockdown has given us a chance to wash the carpets, fix things up and give the whole shop a fresh coat of paint both inside and out. It'll feel great to chat to people again and I'm sure we'll hear many funny stories of people's experiences of lockdown."
