Falmouth and Penryn Job Club determined to help local people into work this year
A local job club is offering free courses to support those looking for a
new post-pandemic career. The team at Falmouth and Penryn Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Job Club, based at Emmanuel Baptist Church, is ready for the challenge to get people back into work in 2022 amid a tough job market. Job Clubs have been delivered for people across the area for over two years and even managed to deliver services online throughout the pandemic. Glyn Lumley, Falmouth and Penryn Job Club Manager, said: "After what we've all been through over the past couple of years, we're all looking at what is important to us. For some that may be a better work-life balance, which may mean a change of career. For others, it might be about getting back into work. "Job seekers will need to look at ways to make their applications stand out in the job market. This could mean that they need to improve their existing skills or learn new ones. "As we head into 2022, we are aware that the job market is difficult and times are tough for many people, but we want to do what we can to help people back into work - whether they have been out of work for some time or are a victim of the pandemic. We will be using all our experience to help as many people as we can this year." The next course will launch at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Western Terrace, Falmouth TR11 4QJ on 1st February at 10:00 – 13:00 with food and drink provided. As there are limited places available, register now for the next course starting in February by contacting Glyn Lumley on 07544 858232 or email [email protected].
