Yesterday afternoon (10th September), Extinction Rebellion returned to HSBC to protest on the bank's investment into fossil fuel industries.

The 'red rebels' staged a walkabout through the Falmouth Moor and Prince of Wales Pier, before meeting the rest of the protesters outside the bank.

Robin Markland, who took the above photos, described seeing residents reacting to the protest well.

"It seems that during each action more and more members of the public are taking notice and engaging with it," Robin told Nub News.

The group previously protested outside HSBC at the end of August.

This time the bank was open during the protest but closed halfway through their two-hour action.

Mat Osmond, a Falmouth University lecturer and one of the coordinators for the local chapter of Extinction Rebellion, previously told Nub News:

"HSBC is knowingly complicit in widespread human rights violations, in the destruction and pollution of the Amazon, and in the acceleration of global climate breakdown.

"So the reason for today's protest is simple: this has to stop. Now. We came today to say that we're not going away as long as this behaviour continues."

XR handed out leaflets to passersby and engaged in conversation about their reasons for protesting.
