Exit polls have indicated that Cornwall could once again have a clean sweep of Conservative MPs by tomorrow morning.
The national exit poll suggesting that the Tories could win with a majority in the House of Commons.
And here in Cornwall it appears that there could be little chance of there being a change in the political landscape here.
Five of the six constituencies are said to have a 99% chance of being held by the Conservatives.
This would mean that in St Austell and Newquay Steve Double would be elected, in North Cornwall Scott Mann, in South East Cornwall Sheryll Murray and in Camborne and Redruth George Eustice – all holding their seats.
And it would mean that Truro and Falmouth would have a new MP in Cherilyn Mackrory who is the Conservative candidate after Sarah Newton decided not to stand in this election.
It is just St Ives where there is some uncertainty with it being said to be "too close to call" with a 52% chance for the Conservatives and 48% chance for the Liberal Democrats.
At the Truro count Conservative Cornwall councillor James Mustoe, who works for St Austell & Newquay candidate Steve Double, said that they were "pleased" with the exit polls and expecting a clean sweep in Cornwall.
The first results in Cornwall could be declared as early as 1am.
The national exit poll – the result of which was announced shortly after polling stations closed at 10pm – indicated that the Conservatives could win the general election with a majority of 86 seats.
