Falmouth: Endless Summer Swim event back on after sewage alerts

Endless Summer Swim returns to Gyllyngvase Beach.

The Endless Summer Swim is coming to Gyllyngvase Beach Falmouth after it was rescheduled from last weekend.

The Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving Club said that they had to postpone the event after sewage alerts.

It will now take place on Sunday (9th) with a number of different distances and age groups available in what is one of Cornwall's highest-rated swim events.

A rundown of the events

Age Group Event, Distance, and Start Times (age categories are based on your age as of 31st December 2022)

Open 18 to 29, Masters 30 to 49 & Masters 50+ 1500m - 10am

Open 18 to 29, Masters 30 to 49 & Masters 50+ 800m - 11am

Youth aged 14 to 17 800m - 11:15am

Nippers aged 12 & 13 800m - 11:30am

Nippers aged 10 & 11 600m - 12pm

Nippers aged 8 & 9 300m - 12:30pm

Entries are still available on the day but you will have to pay in cash.

There will also be a raffle held with prizes on offer although the group are encouraging others to bring down prizes to add to the collection, you will also need cash to enter the raffle.

The Gyllyngvase Surf Life Saving Club also asked for extra help on their Facebook page to run the event, saying: "We will still need lots of helpers to run the day, help with sign in, finish line, set up, selling raffle tickets and water cover for the races. You can do your race and also help, so if you have a few spare hours on Sunday please let us know."
