Emergency services worked together to rescue a casualty who was stuck on Pendennis Point.

South Western Ambulance Service, Falmouth Coastguard, and Devon and Cornwall Police were all on the scene yesterday evening (1st) at around 7:15pm.

The ambulance service was first to attend and called for assistance to get the unwell casualty to safety. Falmouth Coastguard used rope rescue techniques to recover the casualty.

The person was then transferred into an ambulance to go to the hospital.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard added: "Yesterday evening we were tasked to assist in a 'Person Rescue' at Pendennis Point.

"South Western Ambulance Service were already on scene and required assistance getting an unwell casualty from who was stuck at height, to a place of safety.

"Coastguard Team members carried out a 'Technical Rope Rescue' and the person was recovered using a rescue sling and rope rescue techniques.

"Once on the ground, the casualty was moved to a waiting ambulance for onward transport to hospital.

"Devon & Cornwall Police and a Senior Coastal Operations Officer also attended. Once complete, we returned to the station to clean down."

Later that evening, the coastguard helped Falmouth Lifeboat with a medical evacuation from a yacht at Mylor Yacht Harbour.
