Dolly's to operate under new name 'The Morgawr'
Dolly's Falmouth, the popular tea room on Church Street, has announced that as of June 24th, the business will become known as 'The Morgawr'.
Owners Barney and Abi have been running it under the name of Dolly's since taking it over back in February from the previous owner but will now be rebranding the business and making some changes to the way it's run.
In the announcement on social media, the pair said that they will still remain open this week and will be 'closing out' by hosting some great acts for the Falmouth Sea Shanty Festival that takes place this weekend.
Here is what the owners had to say when confirming the change of name: "An exciting new space in the heart of Falmouth, The Morgawr will be a spot for fans of live entertainment, local beers & spirits, cocktails, light bites, and more.
"We will also be a retailer for guitars & instruments from some of the very best independent makers across the South West, as well as stocking a range of accessories and vinyl records.
"Our stage will play host to up to 4 live events per week, with a range of entertainment including music, comedy, and more. We hope to be a hub for local talent, championing grass-roots musicians from all genres, in addition to well-known artists from further afield.
"We will still be serving your favourite hot drinks as well as a range of small plates, homemade cakes, and bar snacks. Local Draught Beers, Ales, and Ciders will be available on tap, in addition to a themed cocktail menu that tells the tale of The Morgawr and incorporates Cornish spirits."
They also took the chance to thank Dolly's loyal customer base and hoped people will enjoy the changes when they launch on the weekend of 24th and 25th June, there will be live music as well as several local and well-known faces.
