Falmouth Community Fire Station reminded residents to ensure BBQ's are put out properly after being notified to an incident yesterday (31st).

The crew were called out to Trescobeas Park, Falmouth where they found considerable damage after a BBQ wasn't extinguished properly.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Community Fire Station said:

"Luckily dog walkers spotted it and called 999 before it spread.

"There is a very high risk of wildfires in Cornwall with this heatwave. Please protect your environment by correctly extinguishing your BBQ's with copious amounts of water."
