Devon and Cornwall Police are urging residents to sign-up to their free Neighbourhood Alert communication system.

The system provides two-way communication between police and members of the community.

After you sign up, you will be alerted to any news or events happening in your area. In addition, users are able to respond directly with any information using text message, voice message, or email.

Users can select what sort of information and notifications they would like to receive, such as crime, witness appeals, missing persons, or anti-social behaviour - and even good news from the local area.

The information is provided by a range of organisations, including Devon and Cornwall Police, Crimestoppers, and Neighbourhood Watch.

It is also possible to specify what time you would like to receive any updates and whether you would like them via email, text or telephone.

The service is free and you can sign up here.
