Covid update: Case numbers hovering around zero in Falmouth and Penryn

By Joseph Macey 16th Sep 2021

This week, coronavirus case numbers in Falmouth and neighbouring towns and villages remain as low as they have been since late last summer.

In Falmouth and the surrounding villages/towns put together, there were fewer than 3 cases in each area leading up to April 15th.

Falmouth, like the vast majority of Cornwall, is currently recording 'suppressed rates', meaning that they contain 0-2 people testing positive each week. Penryn recorded 3 cases in that week.

Vaccinations

In Cornwall as of April 11th, 252,927 people aged 50+ in the area have had the first dose of the vaccine.

That is about 92% of people aged 50+, using estimates from the National Immunisation Management Service.
