Falmouth Town Council has issued a reminder over parks and gardens requesting people use the facilities responsibly.

In recent incidents, the council says the behaviour has become "unacceptable."

This is particularly around safety and hygiene in play areas and public toilets.

A spokesperson for the town council said:

"During lockdown, we know it is important for us to be able to use our daily exercise time to spend it in nature and green space and for children to play.

"We have kept our parks and gardens open so you can stay local and do that. Please use them responsibly and in accordance with social distancing guidelines and otherwise observe the need to stay at home.

"In some instances user behaviour has become unacceptable in regard to safety and hygiene, particularly the use of children play areas and public toilets.

"We do not want to have to close these facilities, please be responsible. You should also wear a face-covering in indoor places where social distancing may be difficult and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet."
