Pizza Express has announced that it will be completely closing all of its stores, including takeaway, in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

Friday evening saw the pizza chain closing all of their dine-in pizzerias but kept most of their stores offering delivery and takeaway.

This has now been stopped and Pizza Express will no longer be available on Deliveroo or any other takeaway service.

Zoe Bowley, Managing Director at Pizza Express, said:

"I'd like to assure you that we 'll open our pizzerias again as soon as it is safe to do so.

"We'll also continue to increase the production of our At Home range in order to enhance the availability of our pizza in supermarkets during this time.

"Whilst we're uncertain of what may happen over the coming few weeks, we'll continue to support our customers, teams and local communities as best we can and we remain committed to helping the UK get through these uncertain times.

"We'll get through this. Together."
