Steve Bellman who, with John Milan, has been at the helm of the Pandora Inn for 21 years, said:
"In the past twelve months, everything has been very different for all of us so it is nice to have at least one constant.
"We are proud to have reached the finals of the delayed 2020/21 Cornwall tourism awards and, by our calculations, this is the tenth consecutive final we have reached."
Things were certainly different this year and, as well as the awards being delayed by various Covid restrictions, the judging had to be undertaken differently and there were no mystery visits this year.
Steve added:
"Our entry form – along with our online presence, social media activity, reputation management and our hard work to be a Covid-secure business – have all formed part of the overall results.
"The team here, lead by managers Catherine and Lester Croft, should be very proud of what they have achieved.
"We would like to wish our fellow finalists in the pub category good luck and look forward to the results being announced in February. Hopefully, we will be open before too long and welcoming visitors to our amazing pub once again."
