A consultation has launched into speed limits and parking in certain areas in Falmouth and Penryn.

Cormac Solutions on behalf of Cornwall Council are proposing restrictions on waiting at various locations in Falmouth, Flushing, Mylor, and Penryn.

Penryn was one of the areas that experienced parking issues over the summer, particularly along Kernick Road.

In addition, it is proposed to extend the existing 20mph speed limit at Constantine, implement a new 20mph speed limit in Flushing, and an advisory 20mph limit in the vicinity of King Charles school, Falmouth.

The main purpose of the waiting restrictions will be to prevent parking where it either restricts visibility, particularly at the junctions identified, or obstructs the free flow of traffic.

The speed limits will aim to improve road safety for vulnerable road users.

The consultation will run until 24th November.

Residents do not need to sign up to the consultation page if they don't want to, they can email their comments to [email protected], quoting the scheme name and reference, and indicating their support or objection to the proposals.
