This weekend, the Falmouth and Penryn community will come together in a candlelight vigil to remember local legend Tracey Symons.

Penryn's Tracey passed away on Sunday 25th April 2021 after fighting a long battle with cancer.

On Sunday 2nd May, a candlelight vigil has been planned at 6pm, where people will light a candle in their homes to brighten the skies for Tracey.

At 6:30pm there will also be a 2 minute silence to remember Tracey's life and the impact she had on the community.

Known to Martin Van-Evelingen and many others in Penryn as "Mother" or "Aunty" Tracey, he told Nub News:

"Tracey was a bright, cheerful and loving lady who ensured she gave everyone that she had met the love that they deserved.

"None of us will ever be able to put into words how much Tracey meant to each and every one of us. Her contagious laugh was enough to put a smile on any one of our faces. The love she gave was nothing less than magical.

"She adored her family, Jade, Adam, Chelsea, her husband Richard and her gorgeous grandchildren. Tracey has left the legacy of love in Penryn and Falmouth, may she rest in paradise and continue to shine over us all."
