Falmouth & Exeter Students' Union Community Wardens, Falmouth Civic Society, Plastic Free Falmouth, Falmouth Marine Conservation, Falmouth Town Council and One Bag Beach Clean all united on Sunday afternoon to clean up Falmouth.

The group started at The Moor, working their way to Falmouth Campus and continuing on to Gylly and Swanpool beach.

Falmouth and Exeter Students' Union Community Warden and President of The Beach Clean Project, Emily Gilford, told Nub News:

"Yesterday we collected 26.7kg of rubbish across Falmouth Town and Beaches. Bringing together so many groups created a great atmosphere and a lot of lovely conversations between students and local people.

"Joining the community together, especially around Christmas time, is really important and works really well when people want to keep their local area clean and tidy!"
