A member of the public jumped into action this afternoon after a vessel capsized at Mylor Harbour.

The individual recovered two children and an adult from the water at around 1pm.

The Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team was on hand to provide assistance.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard said:

"The children had taken on a small amount of seawater and were checked over by team members. They were none the worse for wear and were taken home with some safety advice.

"Falmouth Lifeboat (ILB) was also tasked to assist but stood down on route.

"Luckily, the group were wearing life jackets. This could have turned into a completely different incident if they weren't.

"If you spot anyone in trouble on the coast, call 999 and ask for coastguard."
