Closure of Ships & Castles as site is deemed "not fit for purpose"

The closure of Falmouth's leisure centre was agreed at an extraordinary meeting of Cornwall Council's cabinet at New County Hall, Truro.
This morning (Friday 4th), an extension was voted in favour of finding find more time for a solution for Wadebridge Leisure Centre – but not Falmouth.
Cabinet member, Cllr Richard Pears described the site as "just a fun pool for children, and tourists", and said the swimming pool was "not fit for purpose".
There was anger amongst people representing Falmouth, saying Cornwall Council should be ashamed of the decision.
