Cancellations after tree falls on railway line between Falmouth and Truro

Passengers wanting to travel between Falmouth and Truro can expect lengthy delays this evening.

The train line between Truro and Falmouth has been blocked by a fallen tree.

As a result, trains running to and from these stations this evening (4th) have been cancelled.

Services are not expected to resume until at least 8:50pm.

Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these bus journeys:

  • First Kernow route T1 - Penzance (Station) - St Erth (Station) - Hayle - Camborne (Bus Station) - Redruth (Station) - Truro, First Kernow route T2: St Ives (Bus Station) - Carbis Bay - Lelant - Hayle - Camborne (Bus Station) - Redruth (Station) - Truro.
  • First Kernow routes U1 - U1A: Newquay - Truro (Station) - Penryn (Station) - Falmouth (The Moor).
  • First Kernow route U2 - Redruth (Station) - Penryn (Station) - Falmouth (The Moor) are conveying passengers between Truro and Falmouth Docks in both directions until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys.

A spokesperson for Great Western Railway commented:

"During this disruption, if you wish to use local buses as an alternative means of transport and the local bus is not accepting Great Western Railway tickets please purchase a ticket for the bus journey, keep the bus ticket and send it, together with your rail ticket, to us for a refund of the bus fare."
