Falmouth's 'Benow' festival with its numerous online activities and projects, will be opened by Source FM on Sunday 7th March 2021.

On the 7th March 2021, starting at 12pm, Source FM community radio will stream live performances via Facebook and the 'All at Parklive' YouTube channel and create a live festival experience thanks to the all-female team at Sans Paddle productions.

'Benow', meaning 'female' in Cornish, is a celebration of women and girls in Cornwall and this year the theme is 'vulnerability'.

The festival is a collection of diverse and interesting free online events including talks, workshops, film screenings and alternative therapies.

Source FM is set to produce and broadcast 31 interviews with inspiring Cornish and International women throughout March.

The aim is to create more connections in our community whilst celebrating the exceptional women in our lives.

Source FM wants to further support more women to make a diversity of shows either from home or in the studio when it reopens.

Anne Bala, Source FM Radio Show presenter (Women Talking) and event organiser, added:

"Benow provides an amazing platform to women and when I heard it was happening again this year, I wanted to support it. Thanks to the funding the Source FM community radio received from a Lottery

Community Fund grant to support this, I am so happy that we can."

The Sunday event is hosted by Sara Baistrocchi the organiser of the Benow Festival, part of the Falmouth Town Council team and Glyn Winchester supporter of the Falmouth Art Gallery and a few of the Source FM presenters.

Tune in on their YouTube channel – All At Parklive - Sunday 7th March from 12pm.

"We suggest you subscribe in order to be advised of the show start," Anne added.
