Police appeal for information over stolen silver item

Police have appealed for information after silverware was stolen during a burglary at St Mylor Church in Falmouth.

The church was targeted overnight between Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April and a sliver pyx (pictured) was among items taken.

The circular container has a hinge lid and lifting ring and is inscribed on its side with 'Ecce Agnus Dei' and on its underside with 'Prayer for W.A. White 1920-2002'. The item bears a silver mark (also pictured) of a lion's head, the number 925, a leopard's head and the letter D, which denotes the year 2003.

Brass oil stocks and a silver-plate cruet were also stolen after access was gained to a locked vestry.

Anyone with information is urged to call police on 101, or email [email protected], quoting crime reference number CR/028948/19.

Information can also be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers via 0800 555111 or at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
