Budock Vean Hotel, Falmouth, has presented a cheque of £3,212 to the Cornwall Community Foundation.

Hotel owner, Martin Barlow, is also arranging a Gin and Jazz evening on Friday 13th March to raise additional funds.

Martin Barlow, said:

"We are delighted to have raised so much in our first year of running the guest donation scheme. Our guests have enjoyed a wonderful experience holidaying in Cornwall and are pleased to donate when we explain that alongside the beautiful Cornwall, there are people who really struggle.

"By donating they help local community groups and people. Our Gin and Jazz evening will be a great social event and all proceeds will be donated to the Foundation."

As well as running the donation scheme and arranging Gin and Jazz, the Budock Vean Hotel is a member of the CCF, a group of businesses committed to supporting their local communities. Members each make an annual donation that is pooled to form the Business Club Fund, managed by CCF.

Jo Riley, CCF Philanthropy Director, added:

"We are very grateful to the Budock Vean Hotel for all their fundraising for the Foundation.

"The Hotel's guest donation scheme and the Gin and Jazz evening are great examples of a Business Club member taking the initiative and raising substantial funds above and beyond their core membership subscription."
