Budock Vean Hotel has celebrated the launch of its new series of Helford Hightide Gatherings that include, music, food, and tours on the water.

The hotel team with river partners Koru Kayaking have created summer evening events that coincide with high tides. Guests can enjoy a guided outing on the Helford River by boat, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard followed by relaxed gatherings of drinks and pizzas as the sun goes down and the tide slowly ebbs away.

Koru's Tom Wildblood said: "We have a unique setting here at Budock Vean where the hotel's private Helford foreshore gives guests access to one of the most beautiful and unspoiled rivers in the country.

"We've been guiding history and wildlife-watching trips here for years and adding on the option to enjoy freshly baked pizza and a drink afterwards on the banks of the river creates the perfect end to perfect days on the water."

The Budock Vean foreshore is a ten-minute walk through the country house hotel's sub-tropical gardens, fairways, and ancient woodlands leading down to a quiet bend of the river – all within the designated Helford Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The evenings are £5 per person including a drink, with pizzas from £13 - ordered before 12 noon on the day of the gathering for delivery at 6pm on the foreshore.

Koru's Helford River boat trips are £30 per person for a 90-minute trip and guided kayak or paddleboard adventures are £50 per person for two hours including all kit.

Future Budock Vean-Koru High Tide events are planned for July 15 and 18, August 1, 12, 15 & 29, and September 1.
