Roadworks are set to begin in Penryn this evening as BT undertakes installation work on Broad Street.

Cabling work will take place from 9th-11th November on Broad Street, between the junction of St Thomas Street and The Old Library.

The road closure will be in force between the hours of 7pm and 7am on a daily basis.

Kevin Bryant, Cornwall Council's Head of Highways and Infrastructure, said:

"Nothing in this order will apply to traffic associated with the works required within the highway specified above, any vehicle being used for the purposes of an undertaker in an emergency, such as loss of utility supplies and anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.

"Pedestrian access to residents and businesses will be maintained."

The diversion will be from Brown's Hill, The Praze, and along Commercial Road.
