Boost for National Maritime Museum from Culture Recovery Fund

The National Maritime Museum, Falmouth is set to benefit from the Government's Culture Recovery Fund, it was announced yesterday.
The Government's £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund (CRF) is to help ease the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic and to ensure a sustainable future.
The museum in Discovery Quay, Port Pendennis has been awarded £485,000.
£257 million of investment was announced yesterday as part of the very first round of the Culture Recovery Fund grants programme being administered by Arts Council England.
Further rounds of funding in the cultural and heritage sector are due to be announced over the coming weeks.
In Truro and Falmouth, the funding was split between, the National Maritime Museum, Cornwall Music Service Trust, which received £248,000 and Truro Business Hub Ltd, which received £218,546.
Truro and Falmouth MP Cherilyn Mackrory said:
"Today's news is a great outcome for organisations such as the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, in Falmouth, and will doubtless help the amazing team there in their efforts to recover and come back stronger than ever from the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I look forward to seeing the team there later this week to discuss how they are going to use this funding and will continue to do all I can to ensure this sector, as well as others across Cornwall, continue to benefit from Government support at this difficult time."
