Falmouth Community Fire Station has been reminding boat owners about safety measures on their vessels.

Over the last few weeks, the White Watch team has said they have been busy dockside and on the water utilising the fire boat by visiting regular vessels within the harbour for crew familiarisation, fire prevention, and protection work.

On social media, the station put out a notice for boat owners in the area, they said: "Do you live aboard a vessel? Or spend a few nights staying on the water? The question is do you have a working smoke detector to wake you if there is a fire?

"At Falmouth, we are running a fire safety initiative to ensure people are safe aboard their vessels. Please contact us for fire safety advice or if you require a smoke detector."
