Bird flu warning notice posted at Pendennis


A bird flu warning notice has been posted at Pendennis, Falmouth as cases have been detected in that area.
The warning was found by a resident who was walking near the Ships and Castles Leisure Centre yesterday.
The notice comes after 'Avian Influenza' was reported in Falmouth, after two dead swans were found in the area sparking flu concerns.
The notice states:
"Do not touch dead or visibly sick birds that you may come across. If you find dead wild waterfowl (swans, geese or ducks) or other dead wild birds, such as gulls or birds of prey, you should report them to the Defra helpline."
You should report findings of dead wild birds to the Defra helpline on 03459 33 55 77 and select option 7.
