Cycling enthusiasts are meeting up in Falmouth this week as part of National Bike Week.

Falmouth Wheelers and the Falmouth, Penryn and Surrounding Area Walking & Cycling Campaign have organised events for National Bike Week, 6th-12th June.

Wednesday, (8th) the cycling campaign are hosting a community bike ride. This will start at 6pm from the Moor. All ages are welcome but children must be with a responsible adult. It is recommended that helmets are worn.

"Following covid, there has been a lot of enthusiasm for more cycling and the aim of the ride is to help us each feel confident and empowered to cycle around our town as well as to demonstrate to the town and Cornwall Councils that people want safer, healthier, quieter streets," the organisers said.

On Saturday (11th) the Cycling campaign and Falmouth Wheelers come together for a static event on the Moor. There will be local bike stores, a bike mechanic running workshops on bike safety checks and simple adjustments, an opportunity to try out a bike on the Zwift spinning application, updates on CC cycling and walking plans, the Wheels to Work ebike charity, and trikes from Falmouth's own manufacturer, ICE.
