A recent fire caused by a live BBQ has sparked a fresh warning from Falmouth Fire Station.
In a recent call out, a property owner had placed a BBQ they thought was out next to some logs up against their property.
This resulted in them catching alight and the fire quickly spread up the side of the house and into the roof.
This caused "excessive damage" with pictures showing the outside of the house wrecked and a massive hole left in the roof, fortunately, there wasn't further damage.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Falmouth Community Fire Station added:
"Always make sure you ensure a bbq is completely out before moving it, keep away from any combustibles and if in any doubt drench in water."
Upon further investigation, the logs were found to be kept against the building for decoration purposes, which is a fire risk.
"Any combustible materials left against your home can accelerate the fire into the roof space," the fire service added.
