Falmouth Hospital bid farewell to a long-serving healthcare assistant yesterday (5th).

Diana Dudley has worked at Falmouth hospital since she was 16 years old and after 39 years she has announced her retirement.

Alex Parks and Sophie Brown-Ainsworth told Nub News:

"Di started being a healthcare assistant at the age of 16 where she worked at Budock Hospital then moving to Falmouth Hospital when they got relocated, she loved caring for people so much she decided to carry on caring for 39 years.

"She has a way with the patients making them feel safe and calm, taking the young carers under her wing, showing them the ins and outs of the job, making them feel like part of a family.

"She is always doing her job with a smile on her face, she's one in a million and will be severely missed by staff and patients."
