Today (2nd) signalled the end of the second lockdown meaning businesses in Falmouth, Penryn and Cornwall can open once again.

Cornwall is only one of only three areas in the country to be placed in Tier One, announced recently by Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

One restaurant that won't be reopening this month is Falmouth's Restaurant MINE, The Old Brewery Yard.

The restaurant has said it is not "financially viable" to open for December and January.

Addressing customers on social media last week, a spokesperson for Restaurant MINE said:

"We've made the decision that we won't be reopening the restaurant on the 3rd of December.

"As much as we were looking forward to seeing you all it is not financially viable for us to open through December and January.

2020 was the year that no one wanted, here's hoping 2021 will more than makeup for it."

During lockdown, Restaurant MINE had been supporting the community delivering hot meals to healthcare workers and the vulnerable.

They are hoping to reopen in February.
