The call for a decent swimming pool was the message from Falmouth's deputy mayor in a regular column from the town's mayors.
Looking over various things that have happened over the past week, the situation at Ships and Castles has dominated discussions.
Deputy mayor Kirstie Edwards said it would be "devastating" to lose the facilities without anything to come in and replace it.
Kirstie said:
"One thing we are all in agreement on is that Falmouth needs a decent pool, somewhere local schools and children can access swimming lessons. It would be devastating to lose what we have without any commitment to ensuring our residents have access to a public pool in the future.
"I am going to be honest, it's complicated and any scenarios we come up with have flaws. For now, just know that we are having plenty of meetings to voice the concerns of our residents and there will be both an online and open public in person meeting before the end of the consultation period.
"Please also fill in the online questionnaire found here at (Leisure Centre Consultation | Let's Talk Cornwall) and join our online group 'Falmouth needs a public swimming pool.'"
Mayor Steve Eva said he had a "busy but enjoyable week", looking at solutions for the Trescobeas open space and the pump track, with a public meeting with residents set to be held to see what they want there.
Steve Eva continued:
"Walkabouts on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday confirming numbers of visitors are dropping but still busy.
"On Friday was a sad occasion where myself and the clerk attended the funeral of Nigel Rutter who was a very well respected officer of Biffa and who I had the great pleasure to know during my time as a Carrick, Cornwall and of course Town Councillor. Nigel was a man who always carried out his job with a smile and was always available for information required.
"The sheer number of people who attended his funeral was a testament to him and he will be missed by us all.
"After the funeral, the Clerk and I returned to Falmouth to attend a presentation of a book and game which is packed with information to help children stay safe. Absolutely brilliant idea which was delivered Rotary with Janet Pearce leading the project."
Steve has also attended the Dracaena Centre to meet up with the Police Commissioner and Police Constable to find out more about a new programme to help children who are having difficulty in school.
He added:
"Sunday I attended the Mayor of Newquay's Civic Service and another chance to catch up with other Mayors/Mayoress's always a great chance to promote Falmouth.
"Finally, Sunday afternoon I attended the Parklive event in Kimberley Park, which was well attended and a chance for fresh air and good music which are always a good combination."
