'Don't change a winning formula': Falmouth mayors re-elected

Falmouth's mayors were chosen to serve another term at a recent Town Council meeting.
The "winning formula" of Steve Eva and Kirstie Edwards were picked to continue as Mayor and Deputy.
Councillor Robinson commented:
"It would be crazy to change a winning formula. They have done such a good job over the past few years. I was just thinking Kirstie hasn't had the benefit of years as Deputy Mayor - you were just thrown right in there and got on with it. We'd be delighted to nominate you for another year."
Councillor Eva has been on the council for over 16 years - also the fourth time he has been chosen as Mayor. He described Kirstie's work in the role of Deputy Mayor as "exceptional".
He continued:
"Your support to me has been second to none. I know Kirstie is new and only joined the council last year. However, I don't believe anyone could've done a better job than she's done."
Councillor Kirkham added:
"We have two other young female Labour mayors in Cornwall. Both of whom became deputies within a year and became Mayor shortly afterwards. Like Kirstie they are active, they are getting stuck in, they mix with the community and they do their very best. Kirstie is exemplary and I would love to see her as deputy again."
The vote was unanimous. Following the vote, Kirstie said:
"Thank you for the faith you showed in me again. I very much appreciate it and I'll keep smashing it out of the park. You've been amazing as mentors, thank you so much."
