A petition has been put together by students of Falmouth University for an in-person graduation.

This was set up by Harvey Downer less than 24 hours ago as an appeal for alternative solutions other than a graduation over zoom.

"After all of our hard work after three years of studying, we believe we should have in-person graduation, even if it means we have to wait," Harvey wrote.

The petition has already gained over 600 signatures in 18 hours, with the target set at 1,000.

Harvey continued:

"We also feel like online graduation is insulting and not worth our effort or our money we've invested in the institution.

"We are all prepared to wait until it is safe to have in-person graduation, and the university should be pursuing all options to try and make this a possibility even if it means postponing graduation until a later date (Eg. September 2021).

"We are here to provide assistance and ideas to help make this a reality, all we ask is the Vice-Chancellor and her office listens."

One supporter of the petition wrote:

"I was fortunate enough to have my graduation in 2019 and quite frankly the rest deserve the same! Do not rob them of this experience, it's much more than just getting a diploma."
