The Falmouth Multi-Academy Trust CEO has said that the trust board are "absolutely delighted" with Falmouth Schools recent improved Oftsed report.

A previous inspection in May 2019 showed the school to have "serious weaknesses".

However, there has been a significant amount of changes to the leadership of the school and much improvement since then. The new report from February reads:

"Leaders and managers are taking effective actions towards the removal of the serious weaknesses designation. The school's action plan is fit for purpose. The trust's statement of action is fit for purpose."

Mark Lees, CEO at Falmouth Multi-Academy Trust, told Nub News:

"The trust board and I are absolutely delighted with this first assessment of Falmouth Schools the last report in May, which wasn't very positive.

"That is down to two things, the new trust board that started working in July made a significant impact into the necessary improvement from July onwards and equally Alex George and his team have worked unbelievably hard to address the findings from that Ofsted.

"However, we are not there yet and there is still things to work on and things to embed, we are on it and taking effective action."

Mark Lees is hoping the school can build on this good work, he added:

"We weren't ever so good in the past at making sure children with special educational needs were well provided for and you can see we have started to turn that around but there is more to do, that is our big focus over the next 12 months."
