Yesterday (25th), was described as an "incredibly busy" day for the Falmouth Coastguard team, attending 5 incidents across the day.
The first incident was just after 1:30pm, following a report of a vessel aground at Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth.
While clearing at Gyllyngvase, the coastguard was then alerted to an elderly male who'd fallen and was unconscious, suffering a head injury on Pendennis Road, Falmouth
They joined an off-duty Paramedic and some passers by and assisted with some additional first aid kit and handed over to South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust on their arrival.
Once cleared from the previous job, the team was then tasked to Maenporth following a report of persons that had been caught in a riptide.
While at Maenporth, they were alerted to a 16-year-old female that had suffered a suspected dislocated knee. Casualty carers assessed and advised on transport to a local Minor Injuries Unit.
The 5th incident of the day was again at Gyllyngvase following a report of persons in the water attempting to recover the vessel from the original job.
On scene, the incident was handed over to the council to looked at recovery options as the vessel was high and dry on the beach.
A spokesperson for the coastguard also praised the kindness of a community member who bought lunch for the team, "we have no idea who you were, but a very kind gesture nonetheless for which we are very grateful," they added.
