A popular Falmouth fish and chip shop has made huge changes to their business.

The Gem Fish and Chips, situated on Quarry Hill, has overhauled their branding, exterior and widened their menu.

The Gem had to adapt, like many businesses, to the everchanging government advice - which proved a real challenge at the beginning.

Their very popular restaurant had to be closed which led them to focus fully on their takeaway and delivery service.

The much-loved fish and chip shop launched their own delivery service on top of their partnership with Deliveroo.

Their workforce was expanded to meet the demand of their delivery orders to people’s homes and even sometimes to the beach.

“We have had a very busy few months with The Gem,” Owner Helen Kurdyla told Nub News.

“We’ve completely updated all of our marketing including logo, outdoor signs, indoor takeaway signs, takeaway/restaurant menus, business cards, new Instagram page. Basically everything!”

Additions to the menu include new veggie options such as a halloumi burger and mozzarella fries.

Also, a new platter option allows customers to get a large range of seafood at once.

The restaurant is remaining closed for the time being so customers can still operate on a one-way system through the shop.

Helen added: “All of the classic favourites remain the same with the original friendly service and staff, we hope all of our wonderful customers like our new look.”
