Independent cider producer The Bearded Brewery based in Newquay has made an application to move into a vacant Falmouth site.

The Bottle Bank used to occupy a space at Tidemill House on Discovery Quay next to The Ranch but it is now left empty after its closure.

Mark Long of The Bearded Brewery has applied to Cornwall Council Licensing Authority for the grant of a premises licence.

A public notice on the building reads:

"The application is to have a taproom and off licence for The Bearded Brewery. The proposed opening hours are between 10am-11pm Monday-Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays. Opening hours will vary due to the seasons and other restrictions.

"The licence will be for consuming alcohol on the premises (e.g. tasting sessions and for the take away of alcohol."
