Residents have continued to speak out to Nub News as people continue to break social distancing rules in Flushing.

In reports from local residents, Nub News was told that a group of thirty gathered at flushing beach to have a barbeque with no social distancing in place.

Flushing resident, Natasha Chapman told Nub News:

"The biggest concern was that people walking along the beach weren't able to pass at a suitable distance as the group all sat together."

The village continues to remain difficult to navigate when an influx of cars are present, one resident counted eight cars on double yellow lines yesterday.

"It made it almost impossible for other cars parked there to turn at the end of the road to leave," they told us.

The Flushing volunteer group continues to look after the beach every day and have switched to early morning cleans due to visitors staying late at night.

The Volunteer Group have put out an appeal on social media urging visitors to respect the village, maintain social distancing and avoid littering.

Part of the appeal reads:

"We understand that new government guidance states that it is acceptable to travel for exercise and recreational activities: however, Flushing has many residents who are unable to travel so visiting this beach is their only option.

"Please consider this when travelling to our only beach."
