Over a 24 hour period in early October, a group of artists took to the streets of Falmouth in dreadful weather conditions and drew the scenes they encountered in support of St Petrocs.

St Petrocs said that approximately 80 people took part in the drawing event with drawers aged from 6 to their mid-80s and including artists, students, and enthusiasts who between them produced around 300 images.

The grand total raised this year was £4,198.21.

Organiser Helen Trevaskis said:

"There's something very special about drawing, in that it makes you really look at what's in front of you in a way that you normally don't. This and the fact our drawing event encourages people to get out onto the streets across 24-hours, links perfectly with supporting the work of St Petrocs tackling street homelessness here in Cornwall.

"We all need to stop and look again at what's going on around us and to question what we see, like people sleeping rough and to ask, what can I do to help change this? How can I use what I'm good at to do something good? Even if that something is as simple as picking up a pencil and starting to draw."

The result of the 24-hour event was an array of drawings, which were displayed in an exhibition and art sale hosted by Falmouth Poly, running from 8th-17th October.
