It was double delight for Mylor Sailing School at Cornwall Tourism Awards.

It was gold for Mylor Sailing School at the recent Cornwall Tourism Awards - not once but twice.

In an awards day hosted over three-hour-long sessions by Daphne Skinnard and Robin Barker on Thursday 3rd February, this year's winners in the Cornwall Tourism Awards were announced.

The online event saw 66 awards presented in 22 categories, with four awards held back for a face-to-face event in April.

It was the culmination of a nine-month process that started in May 2021. Winners celebrated online with whoops, and on occasions tears, of joy with many sharing their success with their wider teams.

Mylor Sailing School celebrated success in the Accessible and Inclusive Tourism category, and Experience (Active or Learning) of the Year.

On the Experience (Active or Learning) of the Year, a spokesperson for the sailing school said:

"This is such an important part of our business and charity arm, Mylor Sailability, and we were up against such tough competition of brilliant other businesses in Cornwall. We have always tried to make being on the water accessible for all and in the last two years, we have made improvements to our operation to improve this further.

"We are proud of what we do and the memories we can make for families and hugely honoured to be recognised for our work."

Commenting on the second gold, they added:

"This award particularly would not have been possible without the strong team we have at the training school. We are lucky to have so many individuals the believe in what we do and have the same vision as us and provide such unforgettable, brilliant, and fun experiences for our customers."

Mylor Sailing School continued to praise the support of sponsors, local businesses helping to promote their work. These companies include Seasalt Clothing and The Shore Partnership.
