There will be no post during Storm Eunice after strong winds caused severe disruption to deliveries.
Storm Eunice arrived this morning, Friday 18th February, bringing extremely high winds which have affected air, rail, and road transportation across the UK.
The Met Office issued a red weather warning for parts of Cornwall between 7am and 12pm, and a further amber warning is in place until 9pm today.
The impact of Storm Eunice is expected to cause severe disruption to mail delivery, collection, and distribution across the country.
Services in the areas impacted by the red warning have been suspended today with delivery offices closed to protect Royal Mail staff and customers.
Severe weather risk assessments were carried out for amber areas based on local knowledge.
Speaking to Nub News, a Falmouth postman added:
"No post in Falmouth, Penryn, and surrounding areas. I work for the Falmouth delivery office and we are closed today."
