Last week, much-loved Falmouth deli and cafe Provedore celebrated its 13th year of business.

Headed by Bev and Tim Mackenzie, the business started out as a neighbourhood delicatessen in 2007 but changed in 2009 to a cafe following customer demand.

Again, Provedore has adapted to the current climate going full circle to a delicatessen, trattoria and off-licence.

Nub News sat down with Bev and Tim to discuss how they got started, adapting and finding out the secrets to success?

Bev said:

"Ability to adapt, the fact that we are in a great neighbourhood where people have watched us grow and they will always support us, the fact that Tim and I are a team. We really love food and we understand what people want, reading the market and seeing what the new trends are.

"The biggest challenge for us in here has been the space and running a daytime business and then Tim coming in later and doing a whole different thing again and me having to move all my things out of the way, having to clear up, and then him finishing and moving all his stuff out the way ready for me again.

"It feels quite nice not having to do those evenings because it was such a lot of work, but those nights were brilliant and people loved it."

All the seating and benches the pair got was from an old Tapas bar in town called "Pepes" for £100, shoving it all in the back of Tim's van and transporting it.

That seating has now all but gone as they see the deli-style going on for the 'foreseeable future' something which they are both enjoying, going back to what they know.

Both self-taught cooks, Tim's love of food started when he was 11, "when I met Tim I didn't even have a proper saucepan," Bev said.

Bev added:

"We have made so many friends through this and all the staff were amazing, each one of them was quite funny in their own way."

Are there plans to change it back in the near future? "This is how it is now, but we could change at any point," they said.

How do the pair describe the place in 3 words?

"Small, warm and eclectic."

Provedore is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9am-3pm
