Budock Water pub dining area upgrades will create a more relaxing year round outdoor setting
A Budock Water pub is looking to make upgrades to its dining setting with new timber decking and seating.
The Trelowarren Arms has submitted a planning application to improve the outdoor dining area to make it a more "relaxing year round setting".
The proposal involves the removal of the existing pergola located on the upper-level dining area to the rear of the premises and replacing it with a more appropriate, lightweight roof structure supported on timber posts. The structure will be open to all sides.
In the application, it outlines plans for a new timber decking over the existing paving slabs while the existing two steps to the middle of the upper-level dining area will be removed and new ones will be added to the far end of the space to allow for better use of the dining space.
There will also be new banquette seating, and gravel laid down in line with fencing.
A new timber fence will run the full length of the upper outdoor dining area, lining up with the dining area on the lower level (adjacent to the carpark). This will act as a separation for the customers from the existing car park for added safety as well as act as a means of noise control.
New lighting will be added but will be kept to a minimum to avoid light pollution.
The current status of the application is "awaiting decision".
