A Falmouth barbershop is helping children get into sport by collecting used football boots and donating them to new owners.
Boslowick Barbers owner Sarrelle McCann set up the initiative to support the community and ease the financial burden on parents - whilst getting kids exercising and looking after their mental health.
It has been backed by Falmouth Football Club and The F Troop who gave them a bin to drop the boots in.
The boots are all cleaned before they go out to a new owner.
Sarrelle told Nub News:
"We have helped one of the local teams with a bit of sponsorship this year. We thought it would be a good idea because it has been a few years of hardship but it is so important kids still get exercise. All these used boots, gloves, shin pads, can be passed onto other parents, or they can be swapped if they need a bigger size.
"We were voted salon of the year in 2021 by the local people - we want to be able to give something back to the community.
"The F Troop have been brilliant and kindly gave us the bin with stickers on it."
Sarrelle issued an appeal for the football boots on social media which quickly gained likes and supportive comments from community members.
She added:
"The reaction was brilliant, thank you to everyone that liked and shared the Facebook post. Please continue to share it."
"It is really easy to do, when we are open just pop in and put your boots in the black bin. We clean them up, anti-bac them ready for their new owner."
