Boris and Biden meet for first time ahead of G7 summit as PM declares he 'won't disagree on anything' with US President
Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Joe Biden met for the first time this afternoon in Carbis Bay.
Speaking to the BBC, Biden said it was a "great pleasure" to be in the UK.
UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, wife Carrie Johnson, and US President Joe Biden with First Lady Jill Biden, all took a walk around the hotel grounds taking in the stunning backdrop.
One thing to note from the meeting was Jill Biden's jacket which read "love" on the back, when asked about it by a Bloomberg reporter she said:
"Well, I think that we're bringing love from America.
"I think that this is a global conference and we're trying to bring unity across the globe and I think that's important right now that you have a sense of unity."
Sat side by side, PM Boris Johnson, said:
"Wow it is a great pleasure Mr President to welcome you to Cornwall. Fantastic to see you in what I think is your first big overseas trip since you've been president."
Mr Biden added:
"I have been to your country many times but this is the first time as US President. It is a great honour.
"I told the Prime Minister we have something in common, we both married way above our station," he joked.
Mr Johnson continued:
"I am not going to disagree with the president there or indeed on anything else."
