Koffiji Cafe, on Discovery Quay has said the community support during lockdown and after lockdown has been "brilliant" as they are due to close for a short break next week.

Owners Paula and Mark are taking a well-deserved break after non-stop work recently and told Nub News about their plans for the upcoming year.

Paula told Nub News:

"Our locals have been fantastic, we couldn't ask for better, next year will be our fourth season and we have steadily been building up the cafe.

"We have got such loyal local customers, a lot of them have been isolating this summer so it is nice to see some familiar faces.

"We have had a lot of people search for us out of town because we are number one on Tripadvisor, then parents buy gift vouchers for the students who are here, aunties, godparents who aren't sure what to get them. Probably not the traditional way we operate but we have managed to fill the gaps in."

Koffiji also did the lunch for Princess Anne when she came to visit Falmouth, "I have never been so frightened in my life," Paula said but all of it went really well, making smoked salmon, cornish cheese board, scones with clotted cream.

As they head off for a short break, Paula and Mark have big plans for the new year, they said:

"Next year we will be bringing out a completely new menu, we are extending our outside seating area, we have got a mobile unit down on Custom House Quay so we will be doing lots of bits down there.

"There will be cupcakes and waffles at the mobile unit, coffee, cakes, ice cream. We have a new cocktail menu coming out, we have a new Sunday menu coming out and we will be doing afternoon teas.

"Depending on what the government says we will be doing some live music, probably just acoustic and something to set the scene in the summertime."
